I was invited to Dunvegan, Carbost and Struan primary schools on the Isle of Skye to read my children’s book Muddy Moos and Midges to the children during their World Book Day celebrations. I was delighted to see the children had dressed up as their favourite characters from thebook.

Muddy Moos and Midges reached the top 100 in children’s nursery rhymes on Amazon last week. A big thank you to everyone who bought a copy. All of the profits will be donated to Counselling Care Skye and Lochalsh- Supporting children and young people’s wellbeing.

My name is Sue Wood and I have lived on the Isle of Skye for 30 years. The island is my inspiration for my poetry books and children's books.

The Summer wildflowers provide a colourful feast for insects, which feed the many species of songbirds, both native and Summer visitors.
